Assist Resourcing are looking for experienced Arborists to work for our client in and around the St Helens area.
What does the role of an Arborist entail?
- Felling & pruning trees
- Stump removal
- The use of specialist equipment
- Tree inspections & safety risk assessments
- Driving and operating plant machinery including:
- 7.5 tonner wagon with trailer
- Hi-AB Crane
- Stump Grinder
Working Hours for an Arborist:
- Monday to Thursday - 08:00 to 16:00
- Friday - 08:00 to 15:30
Essential Requirements for all Arborist applications:
Knowledge of Health and Safety including, HASAW, Chapter 8, COSHH, LOLER, and PUWER regulations.
Knowledge of carrying out tree inspections and tree safety risk assessments.
Knowledge of safety procedures and guidance in Arboriculture.
Ability to drive 7.5 tonne vehicle and trailer with a combined MAM of 12 tonnes.
Ability to carry out work instructions and complete records and documentation.
Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team without supervision.
Ability to organise workload and resources so productivity target levels are achieved to the correct standard.
At least 3 years experience carrying out arboricultural tasks including:
Tree felling; tree climbing; crown thin & crown lift; crown reduction; root pruning; pruning (general), winching (tractor and hand winch); wood chipping; stump grinding and tractor driving.
Experience working in Amenity Horticulture
NVQ Level 2 Amenity Horticulture and Arboriculture or equivalent.
The relevant NPTC CS certificates for the use of chainsaws and tree climbing.
Certificate of competence for the application of Pesticides PA1 and PA6A.
Certificate for the use of a Mobile Elevated Work Platform.
Certificate for the use of a crane/Hiab.
